We prepared a building reinstatement cost assessment of the famous Tunnocks Bakery
Whitecross were instructed to prepare a building reinstatement cost assessment of the famous Tunnocks Bakery in Uddingston, Scotland.
The bakery comprises a four-storey purpose-built bakery premises originally constructed over a ten year period from 1957 with a roof top storey added in 2002.
Internally the building is used for the production of food products with the third floor being used as a store for raw materials, the second floor being the production of caramel and wafers, the first floor being for the production of teacakes and wrapping areas, while the ground floor is used as part production space, loading bay and office space.
Following a detailed inspection of the property which included measuring the building (including all out buildings), we prepared a building reinstatement cost assessment based on the building construction, size and fit-out. Careful assessment of the parameters affecting re-build costs such as difficult access and neighbourly matters was required, particularly to the town location.
